Dear Oneonta Family,

Here is an exciting opportunity to join forces with our local Boy Scout Troop #342 and serve people in need. Please read the following message for more details. Thank you.

Onward!

Rev. Lincoln Skinner

Hi,
I hope you all are well and in good health!
Given our current circumstances, face masks have been a very important part of our lives. While most have access to face masks, some individuals are left without proper protection.
Since the start of the pandemic, I have noticed there is a large homeless population left without this essential within my community.
That’s where my Eagle Project comes in. My plan is to provide homemade cloth masks for those who are in need of one. Approximately 50  masks will be made. Each cloth mask will be packaged inside a ziplock bag containing 3 surgical masks and a letter (consisting of words of encouragement). I hope that this package will grant those who are struggling the basic protection and strength necessary to endure this difficult period.
I am asking for your help to make this goal possible.
For those willing to assist, please email me so that we can arrange a date to supply you with the necessary materials. I will provide a  tutorial for making the mask. You can either follow the given template, or choose your own pattern (as long as it has a minimum of two layers of cloth).
For those who do not have an accessible sewing machine, I ask for your help to create cards and letters that inspire a sense of positivity, motivation, and hope. I will provide an example letter shortly. Please feel free to be as creative as you’d like! I just ask that we keep it optimistic and relatively appropriate.
Lastly, these masks and letters will be needed by Sunday evening on the 28th of February. The finished products will then be distributed by my local parish, Divine Savior.
Please feel free to forward this email to any individual who is willing to assist in making this goal possible.  The more assistance in making the masks and letters/cards, the more smiles that we will be produced by those in greater need.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at ermero935@gmail.com. Thank you for your time. I know how tough things can be in the midst of the current pandemic so stay strong! 🙂
All the best,
Esteban Romero
